Part F Ventilation System Testing

Part F of the Building Regulations requires that ventilation systems in all new-build developments are formally tested and commissioned upon completion. This applies to mechanical extract ventilation (MEV) and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) systems, confirming they deliver the designed airflow rates required for occupant health and comfort.

As buildings achieve ever-higher levels of air tightness under Part L, correct ventilation performance becomes increasingly critical. A poorly commissioned system can result in inadequate fresh air supply, excessive humidity, and declining indoor air quality.
